Kijiji Yeetu will host a digital empowerment event in partnership with the Ugunja Youth Parliament, Ugunja Digital Champions, and the newly formed Digital Rights Working Group. The event will gather 100 people, including youth, women, and people with disabilities, for hands-on training in digital safety, encryption tools, ethical technology use, and AI literacy. The goal is to empower Community Net Wardens to know how to protect their data, utilize encrypted communication tools like Tor and Signal, and advocate for digital rights in Siaya. The efforts will raise awareness and recruit digital champions beyond the event location. This initiative advances inclusive digital participation, boosts civic engagement, and aims to foster a safer, more equitable online future in Western Kenya and beyond
