On the occasion of Global Encryption Day 2025, the Internet Society Nepal Chapter (Open Internet Nepal) is hosting a critical public awareness and advocacy event on October 8, 2025. This collaborative initiative seeks to democratize understanding of end-to-end encryption (E2EE) and highlight it as a fundamental digital right for all Nepalis, regardless of technical background or profession.
The half-day program blends education, interaction, and action. It will feature:
-> Expert Panel Discussion with cybersecurity specialists, legal experts, and digital rights advocates.
-> Youth-led Lightning Talks on “Encryption in Everyday Life”, linking technical concepts to everyday experiences.
-> Interactive Demonstration showcasing how apps use E2EE and how backdoors compromise security.
