Danuwa Empowerment Foundation (DANUWA), with support from Internet Society, will commemorate Global Encryption Day 2026 on 16 October in Yola, Adamawa State, through a hybrid event promoting strong encryption, digital privacy, and secure communication. The event will engage humanitarian workers, civil society organizations, journalists, youth leaders, technology professionals, and human rights advocates. Activities will include expert discussions, practical demonstrations, digital security training, and hands-on encryption clinics. Participants will learn to protect sensitive information, secure devices, and adopt encrypted communication tools. The event aims to reach 100 participants, develop 20 Digital Safety Champions, and strengthen collaboration and awareness of encryption across humanitarian and civic communities.
